Moong Dal Chicken Curry: A Protein-Packed Dish For Muscle Health and Nourishment

This moong dal chicken curry is a high-protein, muscle-fueling meal that combines tender chicken with fiber-rich moong dal for a hearty, balanced dish. Unlike traditional chicken curry, this version adds slow-digesting carbs and plant protein, making it ideal for post-workout recovery or meal prep. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Moong Dal
  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Method
 

  1. Rinse the Moong Dal and set aside.
  2. In a pot, heat oil and sauté onions until golden. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  3. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned. Then add tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  4. Add the Moong Dal and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the chicken is cooked and the dal is soft (about 30 minutes).
  5. Stir in garam masala and garnish with coriander before serving.
